Ramsden Ravens win cup

Round 1

Ramsden Ravens 24 vs 7 Wickford A

Wickford took the lead on the first end 1-0 but that's where it peaked, mid way through the game being 12-4 down after losing a few 3's did not help and then Ramsden turned on the pressure picking up more 3's and a 4 to end up winners 24-7 after 15 ends

Falcon Whites 9 vs 20 Willows Park

Falcon also took an early lead 4-1 after 4 ends but then lost the next five ends in a row to be 12-4 down after nine ends. Falcon did pick up a few more ends but willows picked up a 5 and a 3 to take a deserved win 20-9

East Hanningfield 9 vs 13 Falcon Blues

Tough clash early on as the top two favourites drew each other in the first round. The first five ends were tight as Falcon lead 4-3 but then picked up a couple of 3's as they romped to a lead 11-4 after eleven ends. East Hanningfield pulled it back though only three behind at 12-9 with one end to play but the gap was too big as they could not make three shots and ended up losing the last end going for the win as Falcon finished winners 13-9

South Woodham Ferrers 7 vs 23 Island

Another tight game early on as island led 4-3 after five ends, and only extended there lead a little to 10-5 after nine ends. but that's where it went wrong for SWF as Island picked up a 7! with a few 2's as they finished the match 23-7 after 15 ends.

All four division one teams made it through unscathed to the semi finals showing why they are in division one!

Round 2

Main

Ramsden Ravens 17 vs 13 Willows Park

A topsy turvy game as the lead changed hands 6 times. Willows lead after 4 ends 4-3 but Ramsden pulled out the stops and took the next three ends 8-4 then WIllows put up a fight and picked a 4 to move 8-8 as Ramsden then picked a 2 and a 5! to go 15-8 where it just kept willows out of reach. Willows did come back to 15-13 with two ends to play but Ramsden saw out the last two to win 17-13..

Island 9 vs 16 Falcon Blues

Falcon started strong on the first end to go 1-0 up but then Island kept nibbling away after picking a 4 to go 7-1 up after five ends. it was too early to call though as Falcon then reduced the lead to 7-6 and looked like they would push on, however Island put up a little fight for the next two ends to be 9-6 up after ten ends... Then they could just not get a break as Falcon turned on the class winning 15-9 and through to the final!

Plate

Wickford 10 vs 16 Falcon Whites

Wickford took and early lead against Falcon 6-1 after four ends but then was just getting picked away by falcon to be 7-7 after nine ends 9-9 after eleven ends and 10-10 after thirteen ends! but Falcon then picked up a 5 on the penultimate end to secure themselves through to the plate final.

South Woodham Ferrers 9 - 18 East Hanningfield

East Hanningfield started and finished strong took the lead from end one and never lost it, SWF came close at end six only losing 4-5 but then dropped some scores to be 12-4 down and East Hanningfield finished up 18-9 winners

Round 3

Main

Ramsden Ravens 15 vs 14 Falcon Blues

The game was tight early on with some big scores as it was 3-3 after two and 4-4 after four. Ramsden worked a couple of good ends to be 9-4 up with falcon only winning one end in the next three for Ramsden to be 11-6 ahead after nine ends.  The class of Falcon shone through though as they pulled it back to 13-11 with two ends to play. Ramsden worked hard on that end though and left it difficult for falcon to get in and picked up a vital 2 shots to be 15-11 going into the last end. But you never count falcon out as they was at one point holding the four they needed on the last end, but failed to see it through and only picked up a three to see Ramsden win the cup 15-14! what a great final!!!

Plate

East Hanningfield 18 - 10 Falcon

Falcon looked in trouble from the work off as they dropped the first three ends to go 7-0 down. they did then show a glimmer of hope at end eight as they pulled it back to 10-5 but then lost the next five ends in a row to go 18-5 down and needing fourteen shots in two ends it looked too far to go. It was but they did win the last two ends as East Hanningfield romped to the victory and won the plate.
